Dear UCSB and ES juniors and Seniors. You may have already
received similar announcements, but we want to make sure you're
aware of UCSB PaCE's (UCSB Extension) new program called Degree
Plus that's exclusive for junior or senior undergraduate at
no additional cost. UCSB is one of only two UC campuses
providing this fully funded experience. You can boost your resume
and gain valuable professional skills completely free. Stay ahead
of the curve and take advantage of this rare offering while you
can.
You can complete one of three certificate programs and related
coursework over 1-3 quarters at the same time you’re working on
your degree. Find classes that work around your undergraduate
courses–no need to jeopardize your full-time enrollment! After you
complete your certificate, secure an internship for yourself using
curated resources provided by the PaCE Career Specialist.
By enrolling in this program, you agree to update UCSB regarding
your post graduation employment. You must meet UCSB full-time
enrollment responsibility of 12 units with main campus courses.
You must be in "good academic standing" to be eligible for Degree
Plus. You must be on track to graduate by June 2027 or before.
Applications are being accepted
now for Winter 2026. Additional information about these three
certificates can be found below or on the
Degree
Plus website.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
UCSB Professional and Continuing Education (UCSB PaCE),
including Degree Plus courses, CANNOT count towards full-time
enrollment, CAN'T be used for financial aid, and CANNOT be
transferred back to UCSB to count towards satisfying GE,
University or major requirements - including the AREA C
'Outside Concentration' for any ES major! These are
external/extra courses taken in addition to your regular UCSB
coruses to enhance one's professional skills in select areas.
