OK, so I just got my fancy new biothane breastcollar in a flasy turquoise to go with my brown horse :). But I didn't realize that the straps to connect it to the saddle have clasps on them. Those work great with a D ring on the saddle, but my endurance saddle has a rectangular hole for the breast collar to thread thru and then buckle, so nothing for the clasp to latch onto.
So am looking for ideas of what I might be able to hook or strap onto my saddle that could make it work? And something that won't add too much length, or the breastcollar strap will be too long then.
Chime in with your thoughts please! thanks!

I would return the new one and replace it with one that is made with straps that
buckle instead of having clasps. Most of the leather ones come this way...and
then they will be in brown, which will match both the brown horse and the
probably brown saddle.
If you are determined to keep this one, you could have it modified to change the
clasps to buckles...or if the clasps are buckled on already so you can adjust
their length, you could just take off the clasp.
Me? I would return it and get one that would work rather than mickey mousing
around trying to make it work.

You didn't say if you had a western or an english type saddle. Sounds like western? It should be pretty easy to make something work - we endurance riders are pretty ingenious at times - my best guess would be to take the piece that attaches to the saddle off, turn it around and run it through the slots, then the snap section will face the front of the horse, you can clip the breastcollar on at this point rather than next to the slots - also WAY easier if your hands are cold and you have pommel packs to reach under - all my breast collars are attached this way now and it's so much easier all around. Those two end pieces are always on the saddle, you still get to use the snaps that make things easier and you get to keep your fancy new one!!! Voila!

Thanks everyone for chiming in. I'll try to add a little more info here....
my saddle is more of a western style endurance saddle than english (although it puts you in an english position more...). Its from TRC Flex-tree saddlery (www.trcflex-treesaddlery.com). I was using just a normal western style nylon breast collar before.
I'd rather have buckles on the breast collar - I'm afraid if I try the D savers with the saddle, it will make the saddle straps from the collar too long? The holes on the saddle are pretty close to the front.
I wonder if I send it back to where I got it tho, they could modify the breast collar to just have a normal buckle? I'll check with runningbear and see if she can do this - that would be perfect if she could! thanks for the tip!

THis may sound nuts, but why not reverse the straps that fasten to the
breast collar that have the snaps on them. Remove the strap with the
snap, run the strap through the saddle as if you were putting it back on the
breast collar, and then use the snap to snap the strap onto the breast
collar. That is as long as it has the type of snaps that will not harm
the horse.
