Low Dose Naltrexone

Has anyone used Low Dose Naltrexone for their horse?  One of my horses has an autoimmune disease and is loosing his hair (alopecia).  Wondering if anyone has had success dosing LDN?

I have used it on myself with success, but so far have not used it on any critters.

Yeah, already went that route.  Nobody really knows how to treat a horse.  I guess I could try treating with the same dose as a human.  Since it is dosed by the amount of opioid receptors, it makes it difficult to know if horses need more or less than humans. 

I'm currently using a Traditional Chinese Medicine formula for Auto Immune deficiencies, but I suspect I'd have better luck with LDN if I could figure out the dose.

I would not be afraid to ask Dr. Skip.  He is a great guy and has helped many. He may have had some experience outside human use. I know with myself I had to increase my dose slowly else I would get wicked headaches.  I started with 1.5 mg and work to 4.5 mg.  But that's human dosage.  I am not even sure horses can get headaches or what any side effect may be.

Yep.  There's one lady that gave it to a couple of very young colts for a week.   Skip's pharmacy says to start with 10mg.  I just don't trust that.  I'll just start with the human dose and go from there.
