Just looking at some Wintec Webbers for Josie and have no idea how to size them. For a person 5'1" any suggestions what length? There's some 28" used on ebay cheaper, but since 24" is available I"m betting those would be long for us.

You can always shorten by wrapping around the stirrup bar a couple times
before fastening. ;-)

Angie,

I use 28 inch webbers so you can judge by that.

I'm slighty taller than Josie (5'3) and I'm on the shortest hole of the 28", but it also depends of where the bars is situated on her saddle (gorgeous by the way!)
I got the wintec pro webbers and they are great (no pinch)

Is there any way to put Webbers on an OF saddle? My friend has an OF ( older English model) and the stirrup leather bars don't seem to open. Re there any other stirrup leather options like the ones with the buckle on the bottom? She would like to reduce the lump under her thigh from her leathers.
Thanks.

You could have the buckle down at the stirups, I have seen people
doing that with the regular leathers and it seemed to have fix this
lump issue.

I put the buckle down between the iron and my shin, so it doesnt touch my
leg at all. I also cut a little slit in the skirt, up near the bar, and
re-hang the leather so it is inside/under the skirt. otherwise it pinches
the crap out of my leg, and covering the leather with sheepskin is a bigger
lump.

we use webbers on my daughters bareback pad (with breast collar and cages on stirrups) and we just put them on upside down as the rings for the stirrup leathers are solid rings.  Other than putting a sheepskin on top of them, it worked great.

So you are putting the end with the little metal T through the ring on
the bareback pad, and fastening back into the webber? But how do you
connect the stirrups? Unless the design is changed, the other end, that
normally hooks over the stirrup bar, is just a little loop

sorry - forgot that part, I take the stirrup bar off my ez-ride stirrups and they "just" fit through the loop end of the webbers (it may take a bit of silicon or cowboy magic to slip it through better)

I use webbers on all my saddles. I like them alot. You can get leather
webbers if you want to spend
the extra dollars. To fasten to saddles that don't have a stirrup hanger, I
open the stitching on the
webber loop and replace with Chicago screws. I put lock-tight or a stronger
version that you
get from the auto shop on the screws once I'm happy with the set up. Works
great and has
held up for 100's and beyond. The webbers wear out before the screws. But do
be sure to
check once in awhile.

Warmly,
Dolores
