I'm a little interested in a 1986 2 horse Trailet trailer I've run across. I'm not too crazy about the new oversized 2 horse trailers since I have no current plans to cross a Warmblood with an elephant. I like the body style and it appears to be in great shape with only a tiny bit of rust on some inside steele. The Trailet appears to be basically an aluminum skin on a steel trailer, but it also has insulation in the walls which is nice. It also has the fiberglass roof which I'd love to hear opinions on. The owner has had it serviced every Spring and it's been kept mostly indoors so it looks practically new. Thing is, pampering stops when it gets here. It will be outdoors exposed to the elements. I've viewed others for sale on-line that have rust in the interior that makes me think it might end up that way at my house. My only reason for getting rid of my 1988 steel 2 horse is to quit worrying about rust.

I've hit the trailer forums, naturally there's some raves & some warnings. Some said the older Trailets were better made than newer. Below are the specs. I haul several times a week so no chance I'm going to put a slipcover on it every time I use it.

Specs below,
Angie

I once had a two horse Trailet that I just loved.  But, when I got a big horse, I eventually had to sell it.  Actually, I traded it in for a gooseneck three horse slant Exiss.  I got nearly what I paid for it on the trade, and I had it for 15 years!
I liked the fiberglass roof because it let in lots of light. Never had a problem with it.

When I was looking for a LQ trailer, I was amazed at how the quality had gone down since I owned the earlier Trailet.

Good luck!

Janice

All the sounds dear to horseman were around me ~ the snorts of horses, the swish of their tails, the tinkle of irons as we flung the saddles over their backs ~ little sounds of no importance, but they stay with us in the unconscious library of memory.

Dear Angie;
I had a Circle J, 1983, with a fiberglass roof and I loved that
feature. It made the ride quieter than a metal roof, was a bit lighter
inside, plus ligher total gross weight. My trailer was outside 24/7 in
blazing hot sun(CA) for 20 years and showed no damage. I sold it in
2003 and it was still perfect.
Just check the bearings every year ;}
