OK, I guess I could figure this out  but with all the many units out there, I thought to ask here.
I have no issue with my Garmin 410GPSHR.  I really no longer use the HR with the TWH, we only play ride these days.
I wanted to get a mapping readable unit that I can strap on my arm and see the tracks. I mostly want it show me where the trails are. I am now getting out and exploring around the new place.
The 410 is great to DL AFTER I get back. I get the tracks of the ride.
But now I want a real time map-track unit.
Many of you are now using these handheld units, so I am sure I will get many recommendations. Want to keep the price down. Used is fine. Looking at Ebay.

Thanks

How about an etrex from ebay. They're running about $150- these days.
Me, I use the vznavigator maps on my verizon non-smart phone. Doesn't show trails but does show me where i am so it's easy to figure out where to head. Since I already own it, it's zero dollars but does cost $9.99 a month.

Warmly,
Dolores

I use a Garmin E-Trex 20 a lot. To optimize its use you can buy topo maps from Garmin that can be transferred to the unit. I have maps for about 5 states in the central US. I recorded numerous tracks and made maps for a NATRC ride. That part is a cumbersome process but if you only want to load the tracks to your BaseCamp program, manipulate them and transfer back to the unit, it works well. The E-Trex 20 has a color screen so it is easy to see things. The Dakota, Colorado and others named after states are preloaded with the maps of that state, otherwise are pretty similar.

Good replies here and a few PM.
I think I will acquire G 60csx. If I could find a good deal  on a 62s I would prefer that one.
I have been offered a 76csx to play around with.  Old gen  less map memory but should work OK for my needs. Local area  Do not need many maps.
I mostly want to see where I going real time and DL the track. Might upload new tracks and routes.
