His owner is a native of the Upper Penninsula of MIchigan (He's a Yooper), and went to my alma mater, Michigan Tech. The owner started a laboratory in California that basically tests materials for physical and chemical properties. California Chrome is the first horse to make the cover of my alumni magazine. It's a Cinderalla story about hard working people doing their research and hitting it big. I hope the horse does well and beats all the horses owned by millionares and billionares. Go Chrome!
