Hi

I am a native speaker of Burushaski Language(Yasini dialect) that is an isolated language spoken by some odd 80000 people in the Noerthen extreme of Pakistan. The language is considered a remnant of prehistoric language.Today Burushaski is found in three various dialects, that is, the Yasini dialect(also called Warchikwar)  ,Hunza and Nagar dialects. The latter two dialects resemble 90 per cent but the former has 50% similarity with the latter dialects.

The Yasini Burushaski is at the verge of extinction because because of a number of factors: the other dominant languages, unwritten literature and demographic changes. The language has become a hodgepodge  of Urdu,English ,Shina and other local language. Most of the native speaker prefer to teach Urdu or English to their young kids .They argue Burushaski is a poor language unable to meet their linguist demands.

This trend has rendred the language vulnerable and according to Prof.Herman Berger at this rate the language will become an extinct within a few years down the road.

To save this archaic and unique  language an organized effort is required especially  from language experts and linguists.I am trying(with some friends) to promote the language in my own limited way but that's not enough.More needs to be done and for this more resources are needed .
