May be more than one language. Classification Afro-Asiatic, Berber, Northern, Atlas Language use One of the major Berber languages. 40% monolingual. Others use Arabic as L2. Language Tamazight (Berber) is transcribable in Latin. Despite the presence of aphabet Tifinagh, the original alphabet, many Amazigh writer often look to translate into Latin. Currently, and if we follow what happens in social networks, users Amazigh use Latin to write in Tamazight. Hence the need to revive this language several thousand years.

Tamazight has a large number of dialects which are scattered over a wide territory. Siwa in Egypt in the east to the Canary Islands to the west in tranversant throughout North Africa and the Sahara.

We want this project to revitalize the language and try to develop tools for inclusion in the digital world. We will discuss about the Tamazight (Middle Atlas) hoping to be joined by other Tamazight dialects.

We also hope that the other languages ​​Tamazight are on their side so that everyone can develop his talk leading finally to a full assembly of Tamazight.

Je lance un appel à Imazighen de cette partie de Tamazgha de nous rejoindre afin de venir en aide à cette langue décidemment menacée.

Toutes les critiques, suggestions, contributions sont les bienvenues. N'hésitez pas à prêter main forte à notre langue plusieurs fois millénaire.

Google nous offre une chance grandiose pour nous permettre de transcrire cette langue laissée aux oubliettes. Il est de notre devoir de faire le nécessaire pour lui donner vie et valeur.

Imazighen de notre région occupent des postes importants partout et nous en sommes fiers, cependant leur vue biaisée qui consiste à laisser Tamazight dans le cadre uniquement famillial et oral nous laisse perplexe. Nous avons des ingénieurs dans tous les domaines, la moindre des choses est de faire un petit effort, à savoir consacrer une demi-heure de leur temps pour traduire ce qu'ils peuvent dans leur domaine.

Sans la solidarité, sans l'union, nous parlerons des Amazighs comme on parle des pharaons, autrefois, en Egypte: il était une fois des gens qui parlaient une langue oralement en Afrique du Nord, des gens généreux, sensibles à toutes les causes sans se soucier de la leur.

Faisons vivre notre langue.

Bonjour, 

Je suis en train d'écrire un roman où j'aimerais utiliser un peu de Tamazight car j'ai crée des personnages d'origine berbères et plus particulièrement venant de la région du Haut Atlas, limite Sahara Occidental.

Je ne suis pas une spécialiste de cette région ni de la langue et j'aimerais bien collaborer avec quelqu'un pour m'aider, du point de vue historique, culturel et linguistique.

I am presently writing a novel involving some Tamazight language. I created some berber characters who are from the Maroccan Atlas, at the border of Occidental Sahara.

I am not a specialist at all of this language or of this area so I would very much appreciate any king of help regarding local languages, history and culture.
