Greetings Everyone:

By February 12th, could you take five minutes to help us?

Within our OA eBook Usage Data Trust pilot project, we are working with stakeholder communities to create detailed personas and use cases that illuminate how OA eBook Usage (OAeBU) data is leveraged across different types of organizations.

As a library representative, we'd like your input to help us document the ways that libraries work with and rely on OA eBook usage data

Using virtual, asynchronous stickies in the GroupMap ideation tool, we invite you to take no more than five minutes to contribute to the list of roles and/or staff positions at libraries that use or leverage OA eBook usage data

Steps to contribute to the persona idea board:

  1. Open the OAeBU Libraries Personas board at: https://join.groupmap.com/F68-868-5DB

  2. Click to the right of the + and type in your idea.

  3. Hit 'Enter' on your keyboard to save the idea to the board. Note: if you click elsewhere before hitting enter, your idea will not be saved.

Like all brainstorming, no idea is a bad idea.  If you feel you need to add context to your idea, feel free to add a note in an idea's comment field.  You are also welcome to "like" an idea if it is relevant to your library.

Thank you in advance for working with us through this virtual design process, which hopefully will allow us to paint a vibrant collaborative picture of how libraries work with OAeBU data while reducing the number of necessary Zoom meetings. Next Friday, I'll be back in touch with an invitation to build on this information.

Best regards,

Christina

Greetings Everyone:

Thank you to those who have contributed staff roles to our Libraries: Who interacts with OA eBook Usage (OAeBU) data board. Listed in no particular order, this group identified the following roles in libraries that are interested in OA eBook usage data:

  1. Library administrators
  2. Collection development / managers
  3. Scholarly communications specialist / librarian
  4. Library liaisons working with faculty
  5. Library technical processing workers

To help us understand the importance of OA eBook Usage (OAeBU) data to each role, please take a moment to rate each in terms of:
  1. How much does this staff position need OAeBU data to do their job?
  2. How frequently does this staff position use OAeBU data?
  3. How much of an impact does OAeBU data have on this staff position's work?
Please take 5 minutes to add your rankings over the coming week:
  1. Go to: https://join.groupmap.com/F68-868-5DB
  2. Click on the three line icon to the right of the role you’re ranking
  3. Move the slider circles to set your answer for each of the three questions.
I will share the aggregated responses back to the group next week, as we shift into use case development.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Christina
