Thanks to Mark Schowalter for letting me know that someone unsubscribed this group from Brian's mailing list, again. I think I've resubscribed this group to Brian's mailing list.

I've also added some text that should appear at the bottom of every post with instructions on how to unsubscribe from this group. Hopefully people will follow those instructions, rather than the MailChimp instructions for unsubscribing the entire group.

Feel free to send me a note at paul_edi...@ecunet.org if you have questions or suggestions. An obvious tip is that you can subscribe directly to Brian's mail list, rather than through this group. To do that, go to this page: http://facebook.us2.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=51bd49db6caae596e13e44534&id=65223d806a

Thanks, Paul

Paul,

Immediately following your gracious words indicating that all may be well, is another post indicating that I have once again been unsubscribed.  I will resubscribe, but that does not seem to have solved the problem in the past.

Any ideas?

I don't think it's actually unsubscribing us. When I click to resubscribe it says that I'm already subscribed. For example, I received Brian's notes on 8/20 even before Paul resubscribed us on the 21st. Plus, if you got this message (which was distributed via the email list) then it means that you are still actually on the list.

Peace,

Michael  <><

This group receives notes from another email list ... please don't unsubscribe the whole group using the MailChimp unsubscribe. Instead, if you want to stop receiving these notes, send an email to:
gospel-notes-for-next-s...@ecunet.org

I’ve gotten another cancellation notice, Paul, after you have resubscribed us, so there may still be a problem.

Just to be clear, there are TWO mailing lists at play here:

1. Brian uses MailChimp email delivery service to send Gospel Notes to subscribers.
2. This gospel-notes-for-...@eunet.org group has about 163 subscribers.

In order for this group to get Brian's notes, we subscribed gospel-notes-for-...@ecunet.org to Brian's MailChimp list.

The problem is, SOMEONE in this group keeps (repeatedly) unsubscribing this group from Brian's list. Since the confirmation screen displays the email address that it is unsubscribing, I assume they are doing this on purpose. See the attached graphic to see the unsubscribe link we're talking about.

Google groups has lots of controls regarding group access, but I'm afraid none of them can prevent this person from clicking the unsubscribe link.

So, unless someone has another idea, we should probably close down this group and encourage people to subscribe directly to Brian's mailing list for Gospel Notes Next Sunday. You can do that on this page:

http://facebook.us2.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=51bd49db6caae596e13e44534&id=65223d806a

If anyone has an idea for how to keep this from happening, I'd be glad to hear it. Otherwise, I'll be shutting down this group soon.

Paul
