Topic for October 13: FAITH THAT HEALS

In the film based on the novel The Robe, a Roman centurion named Marcellus was mystified as he watched a crippled woman playing a lyre and singing praises to God. He was told that when she was 15 she was stricken with paralysis and became severely embittered. When she met Christ, though, she was transformed into a joyful woman.

“But she still can’t walk,” Marcellus protested angrily. “If Jesus had such great power, why didn’t He cure her?”

“He did!” was the reply.

It appears that sometimes we do not recognize healing when it happens. We want what we want, when we want it and how we want it!

That carries over into other areas of our lives, we want what we want - - - when and how - - “Change, what are you talking about??”

Your pastor is not immune to this condition either. Sometimes new ideas don’t set well and the pastor gets grumpy. When you see that happening please be patient.

That is like the little song, “There really aught to be – a sign upon my heart – don’t judge me yet cause there’s an unfinished part – but I’ll be perfect just according to his plan, - fashioned by the Master’s loving hand - - - he’s still working on me.

Let’s work together to find out what God has in plan for this, His Church - - if it takes some change let us be ready to accept that and press on to the goal.
