Hi,

We noticed that the following DOIs appear to be missing in EuropePMC.
i.e. a search for "DOI:<doi>" doesn't yield any results.
At the same time, all of them are returned okay via the Crossref API.

10.32942/osf.io/wzdcp
10.31730/osf.io/xq6jh
10.31730/osf.io/jh96e
10.31235/osf.io/v8ghj
10.31222/osf.io/xdekq
10.31219/osf.io/xb57u
10.31219/osf.io/vrmpf
10.31219/osf.io/paby6
10.31219/osf.io/enzgs
10.31219/osf.io/9wdcq
10.26434/chemrxiv.12057846.v1
10.1162/QSS_A_00248
10.1162/QSS_A_00247
10.1162/QSS_A_00246
10.1016/s0735-1097(22)01982-9

Do you know why that might be?

Thank you
Daniel

Europe PMC is a free literature repository and search engine for biomedical and health researchers. It indexes preprints in addition to abstracts and full text of published research articles.

The articles that are listed below are either from preprints servers or journals that we are not indexing at the moment. However, the ones highlighted in yellow are indeed indexed and I have reached out to our developer team to check why are they missing in the EPMC site.

I will keep you posted upon receipt of more info from the team.

Hello Uma,

Thank you for looking into it.

The two DOIs you marked as yellow still seem to be missing from the index. I also found another bioRxiv DOI that seem to be missing (but is in Crossref). The latter might be too recent though.

10.32942/osf.io/wzdcp
10.26434/chemrxiv.12057846.v1
10.1101/2023.01.27.525835

Thank you
Daniel

Dear Daniel,

My sincere apologies for the delayed response. This mail fell through the cracks.

I have provided the links to two of the articles below:

10.26434/chemrxiv.12057846.v1 is https://europepmc.org/article/PPR/PPR138921
10.1101/2023.01.27.525835 is https://europepmc.org/article/PPR/PPR609495

From checking the preprint 10.32942/osf.io/wzdcp, we noticed that the Crossref metadata has no abstract. This is a mandatory field that is required to load the preprint and hence is missing in Europe PMC.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards

Uma

Hi Uma,

Thank you for getting back on this.

I understand that articles without an abstract won't be indexed.
I also see that the search does return v2 of the chemrxiv preprint: 10.26434/chemrxiv.12057846.v2

Is there any reason why 10.1101/2023.01.27.525835 doesn't seem to be returned by the search? (I was trying "DOI:10.1101/2023.01.27.525835")

Thank you
Daniel
