Geophysics instruments for field education

For those of you interested in using geophysics field instruments in education, I wanted to let you know that there is a new process for requesting them from EarthScope.

There are several types of geophysics instruments available for use at US institutions. Previously instruments were separate between geodetic and seismic/near-surface pools, but now they have been combined into one.

• Real-time kinematic GPS/GNSS
• Ground penetrating radar
• Multi-channel seismic

Geophysics Field Teaching modules are available from GEodesy Tools for Societal Issues (GETSI) and Introducing Geophysics for Urban and Near-surface Applications (IGUaNA)

*No rental fee but users pay for shipping. Waivers are available for low-resource institutions and recent short course participants. See Field Education page for more information.*
