Postdoctoral Position to study ground deformation at Campi Flegrei, Italy. The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University seeks a postdoctoral research associate to work on a new project to advance numerical models of the ground deformation and the stress field of Campi Flegrei, Italy. The postdoctoral associate will be supervised by Prof. Matt Pritchard and collaborate closely with Prof. Trish Gregg (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign) and several scientists at Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Italy including extended visits at both institutions. There are opportunities to work on other active projects and to co-supervise students. The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in geophysics, geodesy, volcanology, geodynamics, geomechanics, or a related discipline.Review of applications begins on Oct. 24, 2025 and while the start date is negotiable, we prefer a start by 1 March 2026.
