Position: Postdoctoral Scholar in AI for Geophysics at The Ohio State University
The School of Earth Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in AI for Geophysics/Geoscience. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Hongyu Sun on research at the intersection of artificial intelligence
and geophysics. The position focuses on developing novel AI methods for geophysical imaging and monitoring, with applications spanning both fundamental Earth science and engineering.
This position is supported by the NSF Collaborations in Artificial Intelligence and Geosciences (CAIG) Program.
We welcome applicants from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, including geophysics, seismology, data science, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, physics, and related fields. Candidates with strong methodological expertise and an interest in developing
and applying AI methods to Earth science problems are especially encouraged to apply. The initial appointment is for one year and is renewable annually based on satisfactory performance.
