Kunqiong postdoc fellowship in Earth and Planetary Physics at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)

The Geophysics group at the University of Science and Technology of China invites applications for the Kunqiong Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. This fellowship supports outstanding early-career researchers who have received their Ph.D.  within the past three years in Earth and planetary physics. The appointment is for two years, with continuation into the second year contingent upon satisfactory progress in the first year. 

Prospective applicants are expected to identify and contact at least two potential collaborators and mentors in the solid geophysics group (https://en.ess.ustc.edu.cn/SolidGeophysics/list.htm or https://ess.ustc.edu.cn/dqyxxwl/list.htm) before submitting an application to discuss research interests, possible projects, and opportunities for collaboration. 

The annual salary is 400,000 RMB (~$55,000), and appointees are eligible for benefits. Given the low cost of living in Hefei, China, this is a highly competitive compensation package. Fellows also receive a research allowance of 50,000 RMB (~$6,500) per year. Reasonable relocation expenses are covered.

2. A one-page synopsis of Ph.D. dissertation 

3. Research proposal (maximum 3 pages, including figures; references excluded)
