3-year postdoctoral position in geodynamic modelling of subduction megathrust earthquake potential
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Associate to study the long-standing question of what governs the potential for subduction megathrust earthquakes. The role will involve designing and running state-of-the art numerical experiments and combining model results with observations on subduction parameters and megathrust earthquakes to make new global physics-based assessment of megathrust earthquake potential.
The successful candidate will be based at Imperial College London, joining an interdisciplinary of academics and researchers, with experience in subduction modelling and earthquake science led by Prof. Saskia Goes. The project will be a collaboration with and include visits to the groups of Prof. Louis Moresi at the Australian National University and Prof. Fabio Capitanio at Monash University in Australia.
This is a fixed-term position for up to three years.
For informal enquiries about the post please contact Saskia Goes at s.g...@imperial.ac.uk.
