Dear all,

I’d like to highlight that we now have an open faculty search in Geophysics (deadline Oct 1). The job ad is included below. While we have highlighted three priority areas in the job ad, we welcome applications from any candidate whose research involves geophysics writ large. We also welcome candidates of any rank.

Please do not hesitate reaching out if you have any questions about the search.

Best regards,
William Frank

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Geophysics
The Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level or higher; position starts September 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed-upon date thereafter.

We seek candidates who connect geophysics to other domains in the following broad areas: (i) cryosphere of Earth and/or other planetary bodies; (ii) geodynamics and planetary interiors; or (iii) fluid-rock interactions, including applications to petrology, Earth resources, carbon sequestration, and energy supply. We welcome candidates who use any approach or combination of approaches, including observation, theory, modeling, and experimentation. Exceptional candidates in other areas of geophysics or at higher ranks will be considered.

Successful candidates are expected to have the potential for innovation and leadership in research and a commitment to teaching courses and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Earth and planetary sciences.

Applications and other materials, including (a) a curriculum vitae, (b) a research statement, (c) a teaching and mentoring statement, and (d) three letters of recommendation sent by the referees, should be submitted through the portal at Academic Jobs Online, Job ID #30224 (https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/30224). Your teaching and mentoring statement can also include topics such as service, outreach, or other means of supporting the educational environment.

A PhD in Earth Sciences or a closely related field is required by the start of employment.

To receive full consideration, complete applications must be submitted by October 1, 2025.
