EarthScope staff and community,

On March 7th I sent an email announcing that Bob Busby would be retiring as the EarthScope Global Networks Program Manager on March 28th after decades of service to the geophysical community. Today, I pleased to announce that Annie Zaino has been appointed as the Interim Global Networks Program Manager effective March 29th.

Prior to accepting the position as Interim Global Networks Program Manager, Zaino was an Engineering Manager II and the head of the Global Field Team subunit within the Field Support Department within Instrumentation Services headed by Sarah Doelger. Zaino has a MS in Geology and significant technical experience in seismological instrumentation prior to joining UNAVCO in 2014. She has been managing the operational staff that support the SAGE EAR Global Seismic Network program and the GAGE NASA Global GNSS Network. Annie has been a member of the GAGE Geodetic Infrastructure team serving in various engineering and project management roles since 2014, and since the merger and formation of the EarthScope Consortium in January 2023, she has been the Engineering Manager for the Global Field Operations team. She has successfully demonstrated her ability to manage complex international logistics and field operations for the NOTA International Stations and has been effectively managing many of the operational details of the GSN and GGN over the past several months.

Please join me in congratulating Annie in her new role as the Global Networks Program Manager!

Regards,

Glen S. Mattioli, Ph.D.
