Dear All,
The University of Washington FiberLab is welcoming inquiries for the use of its fleet of DAS, DTS, and DSS interrogators and associated equipment.
The FiberLab’s mission is to enable transformative science through easily deployed optical fiber sensing. Our lab has deployed optical fiber sensing solutions in cryospheric, offshore, urban, and borehole environments. We have diverse expertise including deploying submarine cables, working in remote environments, using optical multiplexing on lit telecommunications fibers, and the use of GPU-based edge computing. More information about the FiberLab is available at https://fiberlab.uw.edu/.
We’re currently scheduling for new projects starting in the Spring Quarter of 2025. Our instruments are made available through paid leases that cover our costs as a University-based (i.e., non-profit) research lab. We’re happy to chat about project ideas including cable selection, edge computing, data quality, and deep learning, event monitoring, and imaging. We prioritize academic projects; please state in your inquiry if your project is commercial in nature as additional considerations apply for commercial projects. We’re happy to provide assistance with proposal writing.
Please direct inquiries to fibe...@uw.edu.
Thanks,
The UW FiberLab
