Dear Seismology Community,

This is a reminder that the session proposal deadline for the 2026 AGU Fall Meeting is approaching. We have already received several exciting proposals and encourage additional submissions, particularly on topics not yet represented in the program.

In particular, we would welcome sessions in the following areas:
  • Earthquake processes and the seismic cycle: source physics and rupture dynamics, tremor and slow slip, earthquake detection and catalog development,  and seismic hazard and risk.
  • Earth structure: near-surface and site characterization, crustal structure, the lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary, fault zone imaging, subduction zone structure, and large-scale structure.
  • Methods and instrumentation: DAS and fiber optic seismology, machine learning applications, computational methods, ambient noise, and instrumentation development.
  • Environmental and resource applications: environmental seismology, geothermal and mining seismology, and reservoir monitoring.
  • Frontier and cross-disciplinary topics: volcano seismology, marine seismology and ocean-bottom methods,  seismoacoustics and infrasound, and planetary seismology.
If your work falls outside these themes, please submit anyway. A strong program reflects the full breadth of our community. When submitting, please indicate any session formatting preferences, including interest in organizing a GeoBurst or eLightning session. We will do our best to accommodate these requests, though we cannot guarantee all preferences will be met. If you have questions about the submission process or want to discuss ideas before submitting, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Proposals can be submitted here. The deadline is April 22, 2026.
