Dear colleagues,

The 40th General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission (ESC2026) will take place on 6–11 September 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye, bringing together the international seismology community for in-depth scientific exchange.

ESC2026 will cover a broad and well-integrated scientific scope, including (but not limited to):

• Earthquake physics and fault processes
• Seismic networks, instrumentation, and data analysis
• Seismic hazard, risk, and ground motion
• Environmental and engineering seismology
• Earth structure, tomography, and imaging
• Data-driven and emerging approaches in seismology

The meeting is designed to foster discussion across observational, theoretical, and applied seismology, with strong opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction.

Researchers from the EarthScope community are warmly encouraged to contribute and engage.
