Dear
colleagues,
we hope this email finds you well and we apologize in advance for any double-posting. We would like to draw your attention to our proposed EGU session SM5.2: Seismological Perspectives on the Hydrosphere: Observations, Processes, and Hazards.
In this
session, we will shed light on seismic methods that detect,
image, and monitor hydrological processes. These processes range
from groundwater and soil moisture to permafrost thaw,
climate-driven changes in the water cycle and water-related
geohazards. We welcome contributions covering methodological
advances, innovative applications, and fundamental studies of
wave propagation in water-bearing media. Join us to discuss how
seismic observations can improve our understanding of the water
cycle and support the sustainable management of water resources
and hazards in a changing climate.
We would be very happy to receive your abstract by 15.01.2026
13:00 CET. EGU
2026 takes place from 3-8 May 2026. Please feel free to share this
announcement with any interested colleagues.
We hope to see you in Vienna,
Charlotte Bruland, Yang Lu,
Eldert Fokker, Richard Kramer and Laura Ermert
