Dear EarthScope community,

We invite abstract submissions to AGU26 Session S026: Passive Seismic Monitoring of Spatiotemporal Earth Processes.

Recent advances in passive seismic methods are enabling high-resolution monitoring of spatial and temporal changes in subsurface structure without active sources. This session welcomes studies that use ambient-noise tomography, coda-wave interferometry, surface-wave methods, and related passive approaches to investigate evolving Earth systems.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • temporal changes in seismic velocity, attenuation, and scattering;
  • groundwater and hydrologic systems;
  • volcanic, tectonic, atmospheric, and cryospheric processes;
  • polar and other near-surface environments; and
  • integration with geodetic, hydrologic, geochemical, or modeling observations.

The AGU26 abstract deadline is today (Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EDT). The meeting will take place in San Francisco, December 7–11, 2026. Please submit through the AGU26 abstract submission system and select Session S026.

Conveners: Shuo Zhang, Shujuan Mao, Alexander Yates, Weisen Shen, and Bingxu Luo.

We look forward to your contributions.
