Dear EarthScope Community,
This Special Issue aims to bring together contributions focused on the recovery, digitization, calibration, and interpretation of analog seismograms, emphasizing how these valuable historical records can be effectively integrated into modern seismological research.
Topics include advanced digitization and calibration techniques, image-processing and AI-assisted workflows for signal extraction and reconstruction, reinterpretation of historical earthquakes, catalog updates, and the design of open-access databases and reproducible
methodologies.
🗓 Submissions deadline on 1 March 2026.
We welcome the EarthScope community to share their work and perspectives, helping bridge past and present seismological data for future discoveries.
With best regards,
The Guest Editorial Team
