Dear colleagues,

We hope this email finds you well. We would like to draw your attention to our proposed EGU session SM4.4Why do we hear silent slip? Unraveling the link between aseismic slip and its seismic manifestation

This session aims to explore how and why slow slip transitions into seismic activity, thereby improving our understanding of the dynamics of moment release in slow-slip-prone areas.

Conveners:

  • Giuseppe Constantino, École Normale Supérieure, PSL Research University, CNRS UMR 8538
  • Gaspard Farge, École Normale Supérieure, PSL Research University, CNRS UMR 8538
  • Louise Maubant, Earthquake Research Institute, University of Tokyo, Japan
  • Anne SocquetISTerre, Université Grenoble Alpes, France
  • Mathieu Soret École Normale Supérieure, PSL Research University, CNRS UMR 8538

We would be happy to receive your abstract by 15.01.2026 13:00 CET

On behalf of the conveners,

Louise Maubant
