Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a three-day training on “Enhancing Advanced Research, Technical Skills, and Human Capacity in Seismology (EARTH-Quake 2026), funded by the Seismological Society of America (SSA), in collaboration with the Nepal Seismological Association (NSA) on July 15–17, 2026, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
This training aims to provide graduate students and interested participants with hands-on training in passive seismic methods, Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) analysis, and basic earthquake location using different methods and tools. The program will feature invited lectures, tutorials, and ample time for discussion and interaction.
The workshop particularly encourages participation from students and early-career researchers from Nepal, India, Bhutan, and neighboring countries to promote regional collaboration in earthquake science and hazard assessment. Further details on the meeting will be announced soon.
Travel support for a limited number of international participants is available.
