Graduate Student Opportunity: Geodesy and Earthquake/Tectonic Processes, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lehigh University
The research group of Bar Oryan in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA) is seeking a graduate student to study earthquake and tectonic processes using geodesy, numerical modeling, and quantitative geomorphology. Potential projects include investigating the relationship between interseismic fault coupling and earthquake rupture, understanding earthquake-cycle behavior and fault mechanics using seismic-cycle simulations and neural networks, and using geodetic and landscape inversion to understand short- to long-term tectonic deformation. Students with backgrounds in geophysics, geology, physics, computer science and related fields are encouraged to apply. Interested students should contact Bar at bar....@lehigh.edu with a CV and a brief statement of research interests. Students are also encouraged to join Lehigh EES's virtual graduate recruitment event on October 28; register at https://ulvis.net/JWeU. Learn more about the department at https://ulvis.net/5t1O.
