We write to encourage you to submit an abstract to AGU session V010: From plutons to eruptions: Lithospheric-scale architecture of magmatic systems from multidisciplinary approaches. We are particularly interested in topics that connect
geophysical and petrologic studies of magmatic structure. This session is cross-listed with Seismology and Tectonophysics.
Magmatic systems are increasingly understood as transcrustal networks that span the upper mantle, crust, and volcanic edifice, with storage and transport occurring across multiple depths. This session aims to characterize such systems at all depth levels by
integrating interdisciplinary views from volcanology, geophysics, petrology, thermomechanical modeling, and field geology. We encourage presentations that investigate the structure of magmatic systems, including but not limited to, the nature (e.g., liquid
vs. crystal dominated), depth, size, and shapes of active portions of the system, how magma is transported, and the physical and chemical interaction of magmas during storage or ascent. We welcome a diversity of methodologies, including seismic imaging, seismic
and geodetic characterization of volcanotectonic activity and magmatic processes, magnetotelluric and other electromagnetic studies, petrologic studies of magma plumbing systems, and field mapping and petrologic studies of exhumed magmatic systems. We particularly
encourage presentations that attempt to interpret findings in an interdisciplinary context.
