S028. Seismic Source Estimation: Methods, Data, and Uncertainty Quantification
This session brings together researchers working on seismic source estimation across a broad range of source types, magnitudes, datasets, and methods. We welcome contributions on moment tensors, point forces, finite-fault models, stress drop, source resolvability, uncertainty quantification, and reproducibility of inferred source parameters.
We especially encourage submissions that push the boundaries of source characterization, including studies using large or emerging datasets, very low-magnitude events, dense seismic arrays, DAS, GNSS, InSAR, probabilistic methods, machine learning, and other innovative computational approaches. Contributions on tectonic, volcanic, anthropogenic, and environmental sources are all welcome.
Please consider submitting an abstract if you're working on a super interesting dataset or a new exciting method!
