Hi all,
We’re excited to announce
CLaSH (Center for Land Surface Hazards), a new NSF center focused on how Earth-surface processes generate cascading hazards across landscapes. CLaSH brings together scientists from across disciplines to transform the science of cascading geohazards to enable a resilient society. We hope to engage with the broader Earthscope community to build new modeling frameworks, generate new AI ready datasets, and help develop a workforce with the knowledge and experience to help reduce risk to land surface hazards.

Ways to plug in (note, the Center officially launches October 1st, so be sure to check back for more details):

We’ll be circulating information on emergent grant opportunities, working groups, student/postdoc opportunities, informational town halls, and upcoming workshops in the near future. Please share with colleagues and students as we grow the CLaSH community!

Sincerely,

Marin Clark, Josh West, Josh Roering, Brian Yanites, Dimitrios Zekkos & the CLaSH team
