Dear colleagues,
We encourage you to submit an abstract to our session "New
Approaches and Observations in Seismological Studies of Earth and Other Planets" at the SSA
2026 Annual Meeting (April 14–18, 2026) in Pasadena, CA. See the description below.
The abstract deadline is January
13, 2026.
Please, feel free to share this message with your colleagues.
Many thanks and best wishes for the holidays!
Best regards,

New Approaches and Observations in
Seismological Studies of Earth and Other Planets
Seismology continues to benefit from advances in high-performance
computing and the deployment of diverse instrumentation, including those used in planetary missions. This session brings together scientists who study the crust, mantle, and core of the Earth and other planetary bodies. We invite abstracts that showcase novel
seismological data, discuss theoretical and methodological advances in wavefield simulations, and introduce new approaches to forward and inverse imaging. Contributions highlighting the use of data from emerging instrumentation—such as distributed acoustic
sensing, nodal deployments, and seismic sensors within the oceans—and their integration into imaging are particularly encouraged.
