Dear colleagues,
We kindly invite you to present your works on Seismogeodesy at the LACSC 2026 session "Advances in Seismogeodesy: Combined use of seismic and geodetic data to evaluate diverse problems in Earth Sciences" at the LACSC 2026 "VI
Assembly of the Latin American and Caribbean Seismological Commission"
in Mexico City, Mexico (August 3-7, 2026). Abstract submission is
available at https://lacsc2026.enesmorelia.unam.mx/#resumenes until March 13th. Please note there will be no deadline extensions. [EN]
Session details:
Advances in Seismogeodesy: Combined use of seismic and geodetic data to evaluate diverse problems in Earth Sciences.
The
utilisation of satellite geodesy instruments such as GNSS, InSAR, DORIS
and VLBI has been of significant benefit to seismological studies over
the last four decades. The development of satellite constellations,
terrestrial geodetic infrastructure, and advancements in computational
methods has led to significant improvements in the precision of geodetic
observations. Consequently, a range of applications have emerged that
integrate satellite geodesy with seismic observations to facilitate a
more comprehensive understanding of the processes associated with
surface deformation and their relationship to deep-seated processes.
In
the present session, contributions are invited from studies that
utilise the combination of geodetic and seismic observations to analyse
the seismic cycle, the kinematics and mechanics of deformation zones
between tectonic plates, magnitude estimations, and earthquake and
tsunami early warning systems, amongst other subjects.
