Dear Colleagues,

We'd like to invite you to submit an abstract to our AGU session T001: Continental Lithosphere: From Cratons to Orogens.

The continental lithosphere preserves Earth's long tectonic evolution, from ancient cratonic interiors to actively deforming orogenic belts. Recent advances in dense geophysical deployments—including large-N arrays such as the WA Array—together with legacy datasets are providing unprecedented resolution of lithospheric structure and evolution. We welcome contributions spanning seismic imaging, geodynamic modelling, and multidisciplinary studies integrating geophysics, geology, geochemistry, and related approaches to investigate crust–mantle architecture, lithospheric evolution, tectonic processes, and links to mineral systems across cratonic and orogenic settings worldwide.

Invited speakers are:

Vadim Levin (University of Memphis) and

Ping Zhang (Australian National University).

Abstracts are due 5 August 2026, 23:59 EDT. Abstracts can be submitted via:
https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu26/prelim.cgi/Session/282930

Regards,

Huaiyu Yuan, Klaus Gessner, Liang Zhao, and Jianfeng Yang
