A magnitude 7.7 earthquake has struck central Myanmar, intensifying the challenges already faced by a country gripped by civil war and a humanitarian crisis. The earthquake's epicenter was located near Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city, and approximately 100 km (60 miles) north of the capital, Nay Pyi Taw. The official death toll has surpassed 2,000, with more than 3,900 injured and hundreds still missing.
