A magnetotelluric (MT) survey across all of the contiguous U.S. was recently completed. Link to story: https://www.earthscope.org/news/after-18-years-magnetotelluric-array-completes-survey-of-contiguous-us/
These combined geoelectric and geomagnetic time series data are available for general research, under network codes 4P, 8P, ZU, XC, and Z7 thanks to the collective efforts of EarthScope and Oregon State University (OSU) under support from the NSF, NASA, and USGS.
MT time series data in support of this work, formerly collected by EarthScope/OSU under the network code EM, has been re-archived as network 4P with more complete responses, allowing for more comprehensive analyses of these legacy datasets.
As part of this process, former virtual network codes _US-MT, _US-MT-BB, _US-MT-TA, _MT-TA are being replaced by a single virtual network _USMTArray. In addition, these data along with PI directed surveys associated with NSF EarthScope USArray and EMSOC, Lithoprobe, and other funding programs can be found in a new virtual network _MT.
