Finally, the long wait for our registration is over! Sorry for the inconvenience about this.

We are excited to announce that registration is now officially open for the

EGU Galileo Conference: Shaking Boundaries – Environmental Seismology Across Disciplines and Methods, taking place from 8–11 June 2026 in Kiel, Germany.

Four days of seismic waves, interdisciplinary science, field stories, unexpected discussions over coffee , and probably at least one plot that refuses to behave properly.

 Transport Options to Kiel

To help with travel planning, here are a few useful platforms for checking routes and connections:

Check and book train connections within Germany and internationally.

Helpful for exploring rail connections across Europe, including smaller railway operators.

Useful for checking local transport, walking routes, and multimodal connections.

 By Train

Most international train connections arrive at Hamburg Haupt Bahnhof (Hamburg Hbf).

From Hamburg Hbf to Kiel Hbf:

• RE7 / RE70 (regional trains)
• ICE (InterCity Express)

 Travel time: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes

From Kiel Hauptbahnhof (Kiel Hbf), you can reach GEOMAR via:

 Bus 14, 15, X60, 200, or 201

Please get off at “Kiel Seefischmarkt” and walk a few minutes to the campus.

 By Plane

If arriving at Hamburg Airport (HAM), you can take the Bus Line 4550 directly to Kiel.

The bus arrives at Kiel ZOB, located next to Kiel Hbf.

Alternatively:

•  Take the S1 regional train from Hamburg Airport to Hamburg Hbf
•  Continue onwards to Kiel following the train instructions above

 Both options take approximately 1 hour 40 minutes
