I recently got back into 3d printing after years of just having a printer collecting dust. I updated the control board on my CR10, started running klipper, got the bed leveled, etc. Now it seems to be ready to go except the Dyzend hot end keeps clogging. I'm currently running it bowden with a hemera extruder mounted on the side, but the filament just won't go in properly. If the filament does go in it quickly gets clogged after one layer. I've tried pla and petg and it keeps clogging. I tried running the PETG at 270 and it clogs, cleaned the hot end completely then tried 240 and it clogged after the first layer.  I'm not doing any retractions currently, I've already set the Pid values and it still loves to clog.

Hi Gustavo,

I'm copying my message here in case it helps someone else 😊

When you mention the clogging, does it occur immediately or after it has extruded for a short period?

I recommend disassembling the cold side of the hotend to check for any debris or molten polymer that might be stuck. Also, if you try to push the filament through by hand, is it difficult to extrude?

Considering the hotend hasn't been used in a while, a thorough cleaning using the cold pull technique might be beneficial.

Regards,

Andy

Sometimes it happens immediately other times during the first layer. I have to guide the filament by hand for the most part and it does seem it's difficult to extrude. I have already taken it apart and cleaned it all up.

Dear Gus,

I understand you are experiencing reoccurring jams, which can stem from various factors.

Could you please check if the hotend fan operates continuously?
Additionally, is the motor running hot? If so, reducing the current might help resolve this issue.
What's your retraction distance on your slicer?

Thank you for your cooperation.
