Getting false positives from my Filament Sentinel while printing PVA (slightly translucent).

I suspect it is tripping the sentinel because the material is somewhat transparent and it will occasionally let the laser pass through the filament.

Firmware: RRF 2
Sensor Config: M591 D0 P1 C5 S1
Can I use the E param with M591 when using a 'simple sensor' (P1)?
Do you have a solution?

Hi Benjamin,

If you take your PVA filament and twist it in the sensor, is the light going out?

If so, we'll RMA this unit and we'd greatly appreciate it if you could send a sample of the filament you are using. The Sentinel is undergoing a small update to improve the sensor sensibility and this will greatly help us validate the new revision.

No, when I spin the filament in the sensor the light does not go out.
