Hi all,

At the end of my wits here. Here are the facts:

Dyze Pulsar with 1mm nozzle.
Printing a vase mode geometry with a 2mm wall thickness, ~8" diameter.
Printed these for years in filament without issue.
Skygreen JN200 PCTG pellets
Skygreen S2008 PETG pellets

I've gone as cold as 200C and as hot as 260C, basically as cold as I can before motor skipping and as hot as I can before it's a liquid.
45C chamber
No cooling all the way up to 60 gal compressor through the Pulsar at 60psi.
100 mm3/s up to 350 mm3/s.

No matter what combination of variables I try the parts are beyond brittle. In filament I could take the print and hit it against a tree. I might see some white creases but otherwise fine. From the Pulsar if I try to bend the tube at all it shatters like glass.

Across layer lines AND along layer lines.

I even tried regind PETG from a filament manufacturer with no improvement. Every print I get from the Pulsar is like glass, you can crumple it to pieces in your hand.

What am I doing wrong??

Hi Alex,

Thank you for reaching out with these details. Based on the issues you're describing with part brittleness, here are a few avenues to investigate:

First, it is critical to manage the humidity of your pellets. PCTG and PETG are hygroscopic and will absorb moisture quickly. If the material isn't thoroughly dried before printing, it can lead to hydrolytic degradation, which causes the exact brittle, glass-like behavior you're seeing. We recommend drying the pellets according to the manufacturer's specifications immediately before use.

Second, please ensure you have calibrated the extruder. It is possible you are experiencing under-extrusion, which would weaken the bond between and across layer lines. Verifying that the actual output matches your commanded flow rate at those higher speeds (100-350 mm3/s) is a necessary step.
