Dyze Pulsar Atom pellet extruder making clicking sound

During printing the screw is making a clicking sound.

I tried with higher and lower temperatures, but this doesn't help.

After a few layers the clicking sound begins and start and stops with intervals or keeps going if the extruder clogs completely.

I'm printing with a PLA impact modified on a 40 or 50 mm/s speed.

Do you have any tips or guidance?

We have run into the same problem with the Pulsar pellet extruder. 

Our extruder is quite new and first we had no problems while printing PLA mixed with cellulose. After that we tried printing rPetg which did not go well. For my understanding we have the wrong kind of screw for Petg materials. So we cleaned the screw thoroughly by disassembling the extruder and switched back to the previous material. At this point the clicking sound started happening. Now we cant print anything of good quality since the clicking sound means the material is not flowing properly. The sound happens quite often and we have not found a cause for this. We have used the same parameters that worked for us at the start.

I hope you are both doing well. Thank you for reaching out regarding the clicking sounds you are experiencing with the Pulsar pellet extruder.

The clicking sound typically occurs when the motor reaches its torque limit. This can happen if the stepper motor is misconfigured, preventing it from delivering its full rated torque. Please ensure that your stepper motor driver is set to the correct current. The motor is rated for 2.7A RMS; if your driver uses "peak" current settings, it should be set to 3.8A. Additionally, we recommend using a 48VDC supply for the stepper drive voltage to ensure optimal performance.

Regarding material sensitivity, polymers like PLA and PETG can be particularly affected by temperature fluctuations. In some instances, we have found that disabling the top heater can help maintain a more consistent flow and prevent these issues.

Please verify these hardware settings and let us know if the issue persists.
