In Memoriam: Geeta Rani Mandal (1942 - 2026)
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Geeta Rani Mandal. Geeta passed away peacefully at age 84 on April 29, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on March 29, 1942, in Pirojpur, India, Geeta married Santosh Mandal in 1962. They moved to Pittsburgh in 1972 before settling in the Houston area in 1976. Known as “Maa” to her children and “Didima” to her grandchildren, she devoted her life to her family and community, always putting others' needs first.
Geeta was a kind and compassionate spirit who found great joy in gardening, knitting, cooking for her family, and caring for her rescued birds.
She is survived by her husband, Santosh; her children, Swagata and Sanjit; her grandchildren, Neela, Maya, Sarina, Rai, and Ami; and her siblings, Sajal, Sabita, Namita, and Uma.

Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park

Directions
The cremation ceremony will be held in private on Friday at the Chapel of Eternal Peace. The family appreciates your love and prayers as they remember Geeta’s life.
