Dear Community Members, Get ready to share your creativity for our 25th Anniversary Durga Puja Magazine, Sharad Arghya 2025! This year is very special, and we're aiming for a truly memorable edition, filled with the diverse voices and talents of our Durga Bari family.
We Need Your Articles! The Durga Bari Puja Magazine Committee cordially invites you to submit your original articles – stories, poems, travelogues, informational pieces, or essays – on any topic of interest. We welcome submissions in both Bengali and English.
Submitting Your Work Please send all submissions to maga...@durgabari.org by July 31st. This deadline is crucial to ensure we have ample time to prepare the magazine before Puja. With this being our 25th Anniversary Puja, we anticipate a high volume of submissions, so please send in your contributions as soon as they're ready! Bengali Section We require you to type your Bengali articles using 'Google Bangla,' which you can access here: https://www.google.com/intl/bn/inputtools/try/ English Section For English articles, all fonts are acceptable. Please note that we may adjust the font based on the Magazine Committee's preferences. Important for All Articles (English and Bengali) Please submit your articles as both a Word file (.doc/.docx) and a PDF file (.pdf). The Word file is essential for editing purposes.
Children's Section We're excited to feature the boundless imagination of our younger generation! Children can submit their artworks and write-ups on any topic of their choice. There are no limits to their creative expression! Submitting Children's Articles For handwritten Bengali articles from children, these will be printed as submitted. Please ensure they are written clearly with 2-inch margins on both sides. All submissions for the Children's Section should be clearly marked with:
Call for Artwork 2nd Generation Adult Artworks We're inviting our '2nd Gen' adults to submit Puja themed artworks (drawings, paintings, etc.). Selected pieces may be used or published in the Magazine and for Puja communication/flyers. Calling for Magazine Cover Artwork! The Puja Magazine Committee is requesting you to submit your artwork related to Durga Puja for a chance to have it featured as the Cover of our 25th Anniversary Magazine. Our esteemed panel of judges will select the artwork for the Magazine Cover page. The rest of the submissions will be considered for magazine section breaks / separators. Thank you to all those who have already submitted Cover artwork per our earlier Newsletter #3, these submissions are already included in the selection pool.
