Dear Durgabari patron and well-wisher, ![]() Subho Nabobarsho! May the new year bring peace and happiness to you after months of the pandemic. Durgabari has opened up to the public and we look forward to seeing all of you at our beloved Durgabari, our home away from home throughout the year. Please continue to be careful. Thank you for your continued support of Durgabari through the pandemic. Your support over the years is key to sustaining Durgabari. We have a new Executive Board, led by Madhumita Sengupta and the Council of Trustees (CT) office-bearers. We also have a new Puja committee, planning for a Puja, attended by all of you. Now that the CT elections are over, I am humbled to serve as your Council of Trustees Chair for the next four years. I want to thank Tapan Das, Dhruba Ghose and Anjan Chaudhuri for serving as CT Chair, Secretary and Assistant Secretary, Diptabhas Sarkar and the last Executive Board. Their leadership and guidance helped Durgabari grow in the last four years and specially, live through the pandemic. Their dedication and continuous support are much appreciated. Along with Anjan Chaudhuri as CT Secretary and Mita Shome as Assistant Secretary, the CT leadership will work together with the Executive Board as we move forward and make Durgabari sustainable for the future. I also request you to pull together as a community and support Durgabari, unequivocally. EB and CT elections are now complete; we are all together for the good of the organization, serving the society unconditionally and look forward to working with the current Executive Board. We also look forward to a fantastic Durga Puja, under the guidance of Dhruba Ghose and his team, a much needed celebration after the pandemic, which our community looks forward to. As part of the feedback received, I heard loud and clear to improve the infrastructure of Durgabari, focus on making Durgabari sustainable for the future, keeping the needs of a diverse population. It will be a symbiotic partnership with EB, HDBS members so that the community acts in unison for the right projects and programs, giving Durgabari value for money. That work has started in earnest. We will also work to propagate Durgabari among diverse age-groups and interests of the community, attracting members with well-thought out programs, initiatives like D-Talks, newer features during Puja and major events. It is our duty to take Durgabari to the greater Indian and Hindu community of Houston and North America. The Executive Board will continue to run the operations of Durgabari; I and my team will be there to ensure we move in the right direction. I commit to working together with you and all well-wishers of Durgabari for Durgabari to flourish as the beacon of the community. May Ma Durga bless and protect all of you. Durgey Durgey Rakshani Swaha. Yours humbly, Partha Sarathi Chatterjee![]() | ||
