Obituary Shamik Bhattacharya

In Memoriam: Shamik Bhattacharya   With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Shamik Bhattacharya, a long-time member of Durgabari (ex Executive Board Member), and the Tagore Society (ex Secretary), a devoted volunteer, husband, and father. Shamik passed away in Houston, TX, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.   Shamik, an accomplished engineer, graduate of both Jadavpur University and Texas A&M University, was deeply involved in his community, driven by a genuine passion for theater and music. He dedicated his time to pursuing these passions while also serving those around him. Shamik is survived by his wife, Sudeshna; his father, Pinaki; and his two young sons, Josh and Ryan.   Shamik and Sudeshna have been integral members of the Houston community. He leaves behind many friends who will forever cherish his memory. The community is deeply shocked by his untimely passing and stands in strong support of his family.
