DCPC San Diego,

I’m a resident of the Ballpark District for the last eight years and I love it here. I understand that we get noise from the baseball games and stadium events, it’s part of our community. However, limitations are a necessary thing. Residents need to be able to sleep in order to function properly and the current guidelines limiting how late the noise of the event can go works well. For most of the events the current decibel limit is sufficient as well. If these things were less restricting it would cause trouble being able to live our lives; it would reduce our property values; and it would damage the buildings we live in. Yes, damage the buildings we live in. As it is now, some events (mostly the raves) cause the venting in my building to shake and rattle, and on occasion vibrate—I have to think this will eventually cause long term damage. The minimal noise with my exterior door closed is not a problem. Louder noise, noise at all hours—Bad ideas with a negative impact on our community and our city.

Thank you,
Jeri Beaven
