Fwd: CfParticipation: Announcing a new monthly online seminar on the
topic of first-order modal logic, starting 6 November 2023

The seminar officially starts on 6 November 2023 at 4:30 pm (UTC+1,
Vienna). We are delighted to announce that the first talk will be
given by

Melvin Fitting on De Re, De Dicto, and Binding Modalities
and will be followed by the second talk on 4 December 2023 at 4:30 pm
(UTC+1, Vienna) by

Eugenio Orlandelli on Quantified Modal Logics: One approach to
rule them all!

The seminar will be held on Zoom every first (or second) Monday of the
month and will consist of a 60-minute talk followed by 30 minutes of
discussion. The abstracts together with more information about the
seminar and future talks can be found on our website:
https://sites.google.com/view/fomolo .

If you want to attend these and future talks, subscribe to our mailing
list at https://sites.google.com/view/fomolo/home/mailing-list and you
will receive the Zoom invitation before the talk via email. Please do

We plan to record several talks and make the videos available to
subscribers of the mailing list. Therefore, even if you are unable to
join the talks, we still strongly recommend subscribing.

Background:
We are Clara List and Dominik Pichler, two PhD students working in the
area of first-order modal logic. At this year's ESSLLI in Ljubljana,
we attended the first-order modal logic workshop organised by Valentin
Goranko and Dmitry Shkatov. Towards the end of the workshop, there was
great interest from the participants and organisers in further events
focusing on this area. This is why we are excited to announce the
launch of our new monthly online seminar on the topic of first-order
modal logic.

Our main motivation for organizing this seminar is to provide a
platform for researchers to present and discuss past and ongoing
projects so that participants can keep up to date with the current
state of the art. As speakers share their recent work and discoveries,
we hope the main challenges of the field can be identified together as
a collective community. Ideally, the seminar will also offer valuable
insights to up-and-coming researchers and spark new research
initiatives.

We hope to see you at the seminar!

Kind regards,

Clara and Dominik
