The Grounds of Unity
One is a book with three very distinct parts. The three parts
interact, however, material from any one part bearing intimately on
material from the others. Thus, for example, nothingness and its
behaviour constitute one thread running through all three parts.
Another thread runs through the book, though it is not named as such.
This is the theme of metaphysical dependence—or as it commonly now
called, grounding. What I will do in this talk is to lay out this
thread.
