It is with great pleasure that Revista Perspectiva Filosófica announces the publication of this special issue, organized in collaboration by César Schirmer and André Abath, and dedicated to conceptual ethics and conceptual engineering — two innovative and productive fields in contemporary philosophy.

This issue also marks a particularly positive moment for the Graduate Program in Philosophy at the Federal University of Pernambuco (PPGFIL/UFPE), which in 2023 celebrated the official approval and implementation of its PhD program. This achievement consolidates the program’s role as a vibrant and emerging hub of philosophical research in the Northeast of Brazil, and in the country as a whole.
In addition, Pernambuco hosted major national philosophical events in 2024 — including the ANPOF Meeting and the International Congress of the Brazilian Society for Analytic Philosophy (SBFA) — reaffirming the region’s relevance in both Brazilian and international philosophical landscapes.
Thus, this special issue not only advances the discussions on conceptual ethics and conceptual engineering, but also symbolizes the intellectual and institutional growth of philosophy in Pernambuco and Brazil.
We would also like to thank the guest editors, César Schirmer and André Abath, for their excellent work, as well as the editorial team of Revista Perspectiva, represented here by our new assistant editors, Paloma Xavier and Thiago Andrade.
